Ethos
LIFE SCHOLAR seeks to take a historical item, research the origin and place in society, and through film, images and word, share that fresh knowledge with a modern take.
The aim is to extend the buying experience, to ensure that buying from LIFE SCHOLAR is more than a click of button, a missed delivery and some generic packaging.
Where you see the LIFE SCHOLAR heart you can be assured you are receiving a product of high quality that has been manufactured with help from our trusted partners within the United Kingdom.
LIFE SCHOLAR is keen to champion UK manufacturing, to shine a light on the people and the stories that are behind what we sell.
LIFE SCHOLAR hopes that by providing a narrative, as a customer, you feel more connected to us and the products we make and together we can support UK manufacturing into the future.
Through small batch production, LIFE SCHOLAR can have greater control, reducing waste, production miles and create a traceable product which supports the artisans, craftspeople and factories involved.
LIFE SCHOLAR does not promote fast fashion, planned obsolescence or a use and throw away mentality and feels that by focusing on quality, beautiful items with real longevity can be made.
LIFE SCHOLAR is a small creative outlet and does not have the economies of scale to compete on price, we leave it to big business and their tax havens to fight on that front amongst themselves.
Our aim is to create your new favourite item which gets compliments from friends, takes pride of place and you will use for years to come.
The name LIFE SCHOLAR was chosen to reflect our outlook and philosophy, a drive to keep learning and keep moving forward.
To try new things and share the fun.
Whether a fellow creative or passionate customer, if you love what we stand for, it would be great to hear from you.
